Reno Tahoe Liberty FC Officially Starts the 2017 Campaign at GBYSL Opening Day

The Reno Tahoe Liberty FC Women’s Premiere Soccer Club, started the official inaugural season this past Saturday April 15 in partnership with GBYSL (Great Basin Youth Soccer League) at the Recreational Opening Day for the spring 2017.

The Liberty FC players participated in the Pledge of Allegiance as well as the presentation of the GBYSL soccer ambassadors recognition and the official Game kick off for the kids.

In attendance were among others, City of Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, councilwoman Naomi Duerr, Reno 1868 GM Andy Smith, Richard L Jay, UNR assistant coach Katie Osterman, and many others.

Also in attendance representing Reno Tahoe LIberty FC were Franchise owners Liberty Sports Group, Inc. and Team Co-Captains Ally Freitas, Amber Gwinn and Shelly Gamble, accompanied by Courtney Goodballet.

Liberty’s Courtney Goodballet works her magic volunteering to coach the little ones. Liberty FC supports the development of young talent from the grassroots afforts and is a proud partner of GBYSL

Liberty FC players Melissa Kalbfleisch, Aidan Vasquez, Joanne Terranova were also in attendance throughout the day meeting players and families at what was a perfect day for soccer.

Official Club’s Crest

 

At this event, the Reno Tahoe Liberty FC introduced officially the Club’s Crest to the public and announced our first exhibition game vs. the Sacramento Primero de Mayo club on May 6th, 2017. The game will be at Bishop Manogue High School on the 6th and doors will open at 5 pm.

Reno Tahoe Liberty Football Club is a not-for-profit organization that brings a top premiere level adult women’s soccer experience to the Northern Nevada communities .

The franchise is part of the WPSL (Women’s Premier Soccer League), that is considered to be on the second tier of the US Women’s soccer pyramid behind the NWSL (National Women’s soccer league).
